Ol' South Pancake House

Always really full. But other than that in love the food and customer service. Chicken and waffles is a always a great go to here.

This is an old iconic restaurant in Fort Worth, built and established in 1962. We had such a great and attentive waitress, Nicole! She made the whole dining experience so pleasant. I had the New Orleans Eggs Benedict, which was delicious! But they are famous for their German pancakes and Dutch Babies, which is a smaller version of the big German pancake. This place is open 24 hours and serves breakfast 24 hours!

The food here is really great and wholesome. The service is excellent as well. They are kind and courteous. The only issue I had was cleanliness. The tables and seating are not clean. The floors and windows aren't either. I am not a fan of eating in a dirty place. Again, the food is amazing, but it's just not the best environment.

It was the wife's and I first time eating there and it was good. We had the breakfast menu of course. I had the breakfast sandwich with fries along with an appetizer of cheese sticks. The wife had the pancakes, cornbeef hash and eggs. Also she had the mini something (cant remember the name for the life of me, supposedly they are famous for them) for an appetizer. Overall, the food quality is good.

Amazing food and our server was awesome! We have changed from IHOP to here! We can't wait to bring the rest of our family out! Thank you for making our first time and memorable one!

Went to eat here for the first time today and my God, the food was amazing and the service was beyond superb. Specifically I want to give my compliments on here to the white lady at the register who was extremely kind & very polite when I was paying for my meal. IDGAF if I live 30 or 40 minutes, I'm coming back here, hungry for more👍🏽 Keep up the great work guys!!

I've been eating here since the seventies with my family. Later it was a great place for 2am breakfast after a night of partying. Standard breakfast food but the dutch babies (mini specialty pancakes) are wonderful.

Always amazing food and the nicest staff I have ever come upon. Honestly it's worth a visit just for the servers friendliness! Very family oriented, Food options are diverse & will adapt to your needs. I recommend going when it's not busy though their wait can get really long especially on sundays!

Excellent service! The house potatoes and onions are splendid! Went about 1:30a and no traffic. Filled up shortly after. Emily was amazing and the food is soooo good! The Country Omelette was the bomb!!!

Oh. My. Gosh. If you're a breakfast person then COME. EAT. HERE. Try the fried bacon dipped in batter!!! MUNCHIES FOOD FOR SURE. I had the skillet breakfast. It was super hot, tasted delicious, and well seasoned. My waiter (I forgot his name) was polite and made great recommendations. He was funny and made us feel welcomed. Will come back.

I really enjoy the food here. Soul food. The staff is quirky and fun, and it's great old school restaurant feel with good Texas hospitality.

Good prices, tasty buckwheat pancakes.. but they use Vegetable Oil Spread?!? Not Butter! So sad. Dutch baby is delicious.. I asked for half the powdered sugar and it was perfectly tart/sweet with the fresh lemon. Omelettes are a fantastic deal, including a stack of pancakes.

I'm visiting from California and I tried their German pancake, just one. That and scrambled eggs was more than enough. Delicious.

We got a lot of food for very cheap. The quality was outstanding, as was our service, despite how busy they were. It tasted amazing, we got the Dutch baby sampler, a burger I forgot the name of, the club, the chicken salad, and an omelet for less than 50.

Nice waiter, great old fashioned pancakes, dutch babies, and waffles. The servings were generous (with the exception of the strawberries that topped my strawberries and whipped cream pancakes. I expected more strawberries, perhaps some of the smashed juices ) the flavor was on point. Can't complain. The food was also served at a good temperature. Our table was clean. Our silverware had some spots and smudges, which is where the one star is lost. Additionally, the coffee was weak. A place like this should have coffee down. Perhaps I will try their decaf next time since the regular coffee was weak.

Quick lines and friendly service. Amber was very nice! Pancakes are so buttery and delicious - didn't need syrup but that's just me.

If you don't go for the german pancake you're nuts. This place is so incredibly good and friendly. I haven't lived in DFW long but this place has been around forever and there's a reason for it.

This was our second time eating at the Ol' South Pancake House and it was good. Our first visit during the summer, or server was fantastic and food was excellent. Make sure to try their German pancake - yum! This time (January) the service was good and the food was good too. The patty melt wasn't the greatest, but it was very good. I did really enjoy the hamburger (I forgot the name but it had avocado, pepper jack cheese and jalapenos- I got them on the side). We will be coming back.

Took my family here on our outing to Fort Worth. The German pancake was delicious! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Next time I’m in town I will definitely be coming here again!

You cannot beat a good breakfast here. The German pancakes are as good as it gets, but if it is not your thing then go with regular or waffles.

'PANCAKES! PANCAKES! PANCAKES! A new opera based on the delicious experience at Ol' South' is what I would say if I wrote operas. Go eat 'em.

New to Texas and passed the restaurant one day and went back the following Saturday for breakfast and loved it. I am a huge pancake lover yet picky on how some people make their batter. They did everything right. Great food

Love, love German pancake!!!! Good coffee and great service. Been there forever and consistently good food. Will continue going back. Got to have that pancake again and again. Good for you since it is baked.

There's many reasons this place has become the landmark and "Open 24hrs" dining establishment that it has! One of which is their pancakes: fluffy w/o being airy, hearty and thirsty for as much syrup as you can handle. So good, even, it's right there in the name!

Appetizer of potato kegs were great, the showmanship and knowledge of our server was excellent, we liked the food just fine but the wait was awful. From where my seat was I could see plates sitting in the window... Would speed things along if everyone ran food when it came up instead of the server finally going back from tending their tables. Or if they had a dedicated food runner.

Best breakfast place I've visited in Ft Worth. I had pancakes and bacon and it was delicious! Great coffee and great service. Everyone was friendly and seemed genuinely glad to serve you. Reasonable prices.

Chicken and waffles was hot and fresh. Wide selection of parking, semi long wait, older place- open 24 hours. Our waitress was very familiar with the menu. Busy, with a ton of college students. Family friendly. I brought my own syrup but forgot my real butter.

The service was exceptional. The server suggested a dish it was amazing. Prices were good and nice size portions. The mini pies were a hit with my kids. I will be back!!

I like crispy bacon and they got that right. But if you want buttermilk pancakes, you better ask. We got in quickly on a Sunday morning though

If you are like me and prefer to eat breakfast any time other than morning, this is the place to go. Breakfast is served here 24 hours a day. The bacon was crispy and the eggs were cooked as ordered. The coffee was really good. (and I am not a regular coffee drinker). Although the place was not crowded, the service was a little slow. Hence only 3 stars. I will be back, but probably not in the morning.

Really cool place. We stopped here to get food while we were on tour and it was actually really great. Prices are super fair and tons of variety and plenty of parking.

Texas Classic! My family and I eat here every year when we show horses at the Ft. Worth Stockshow! I love everything on the menu! The German pancake is delicious, the coffee is excellent and the tater kegs are to die for! Love this place :)

First time here. They are doing some construction so I think this place will be better when they get done. My husband had the German pancake which was different because you get 🍋 & powder sugar on it. It's worth a try.

What a great local spot that's been around for ages. This is the first place I ever tried a Dutch Baby, which if you haven't had one, please fix that immediately! Great prices, good flavors and smiling service can typically be found here. Be wary that they actually tend to stay pretty busy on weekends and sometimes they can have a bit of a wait, but it'll be worth it.

Crystal took such great care of us! She noticed that part of our order was overcooked and made sure to not bring it to the table until it was cooked through properly. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes and she brought whipped cream, that I hadn't initially ordered, but was more than happy to have with my pancakesI never had to ask for a refill on my coffee, she came just in time to refill my mug every time. Loved my service today!

So much to be said about this awesome and historic restaurant but I’ll just keep it simple. If you are in ft worth at ANY time of day and want some delicious breakfast food head to Ol’ South and order a coffee and a German Pancake. Trust me!

We stopped here on our way out of town after an overnight stay passing through, since it had good reviews. Large portions, decent service. The menu is exactly what you would expect from a place called "Ol' South." We liked what we ordered (chicken and waffles, 2 egg plate with sausage and pancakes). I guess we'll have to order the house special pancake next time we come through town.

Great lunch menu, very good prices. Food was fresh,hot, and really good. Quick service, friendly waitstaff. Excellent coffee! Been in business almost 60 years here. Large, private areas for groups, perfect place for lunch meetings.
